Make Your Impact (Yup, I’m Back)

What use are skills and talents if we don’t utilize them? It’s been over a year since my last post. It simply seemed as though life, friends and work all came before my talent. (Writing) Every time I’ve sat down at my computer to poke away at my keyboard I always seemed to find an excuse to do something else. Maybe it was that I just couldn’t find the motivation or inspiration I needed. Honestly, I suppose I felt as though I could never bring myself to write anything of significance. But today it hit me; square in the face, as if it had been there my entire life and I’d been blind to it. I’ll never know unless I keep at it. I don’t necessarily need motivation or inspiration to sit down and put my thoughts in word form. Will. Pure unbreakable will power is the only way. It’s the only way to create anything of substance in life, for any of us. When you want something bad enough, you make it a priority. As naive and basic as that sounds, strong will power is something that very few people actually possess. My ultimate goal to become a successful writer. Whether that’s in the cards for me will continue to be a mystery unless I strap in, push myself to succeed, and believe in my natural ability. Believing in myself has, to this point in my life, always been my most difficult struggle. I know I’m capable of far more than the extremely limited extent of my accomplishments. I’ve never sincerely applied myself to anything in my life, which to this day is my biggest regret. I’m sure most of you have heard the saying, “If only you knew then what you know now.” Well, if time travel is possible, someone please leave a explanatory, “How to” comment for me all my readers who need a do-over. On a serious note, as of this moment none of us can travel back and fix things from the past. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to improve our future. Rarely do we as human beings get second chances. Though we can dictate the choices we make. Personally I’ve made quite a few bad choices in my life. The only person that can prevent positive change is yourself. We all search for meaning in our lives. We all want to matter. We all want to be remembered. The key is believing you can make an impact on more lives than your own.

So much truth you’ve nailed here!!! And SO good to have you sharing again! Keep going, never give up! Gifts and talents are to be used to serve others, yet often, when we choose to persevere and put them to good use instead of burying them, we find that we also are helped, served and fulfilled. Looking forward to reading more soon! 🙂
